cremains burial

cremation interment

Nassau Knolls Cemetery and Memorial Park needs at least a two business day notice to open a grave for grave owner(s).

On the day of the burial, the cemetery will need:

  1. full payment by Bank check, cash, or credit card
  2. the original cremation certificate, and
  3. the cremains

If cremains are mailed to the cemetery, payment must be made prior to the shipment by a bank check or credit card.

The family is responsible for a committal service and contacting the clergy and/or military.

The cemetery will provide a table (approximately 2' x 3') at the grave.

Family and friends will meet at the office where the superintendent will drive the entire procession to the grave site. He can bring the cremains with him or the family can bring them. The family should notify the superintendent as to whether or not they want to see the cremains interred.

Please call the cemetery office with any questions. (516)944-8530.
